the water of the hunza valley

The Hunza Valley in Pakistan

The Hunza Valley is a mountainous valley in the northern part of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Here, the Hunza people are known to live exceptionally long life-spans, with the average person allegedly living past 100. Although not technically one of the five “blue zones” of the world - a concept used to identify a demographic and/or geographic area of the world with high concentrations of centenarians and longer life expectancies – the Hunza people share some similar characteristics with blue zone dwellers. Much like the blue zones, the Hunza live in an area of high elevation where many work physically strenuous jobs that keep them in peak physical shape, while breathing clean, fresh air, eating fresh, homegrown, organic foods, and yep, you guessed it – drinking a very special kind of water.

Dr. Henri Coanda (1886-1972), an inventor, scientist, engineer, and known as the founder of fluid dynamics, was one of the world's greatest scientists. Born in Bucharest, Romania, Dr. Coanda was an inventor who held more than 600 patents. He spent much of his career focused on invention in the field of aviation, but was also infatuated with the idea of finding the Fountain of Youth. Through his interest in longevity, Dr. Coanda began studying the glacial waters that the people of the Hunza Valley – who allegedly live into their 120s - consume. As he was nearing his retirement, Dr. Coanda connected with a 17-year-old science prodigy named Patrick Flanagan who he was working with at a high-level U.S. Defense Department “think tank” of prominent scientists. Flanagan had been featured in Life Magazine as one of the ten most promising scientists in America at the time. Dr. Coanda was 78 years old when he offered Flanagan his documented research and asked that his research on longevity be carried on. Flanagan accepted Coanda's challenge and began what would become his life's work.

Dr. Patrick Flanagan & Dr. Henri Coanda

Through Dr. Flanagan’s research, he discovered that the glacial, living water that the Hunza people consume has physical properties that differ from the water that the rest of us drink, and that he believes to be the contributing factors to their longevity.

so, what did he find?

Dr. Flanagan coined this water as “Hunza Water”. The water has lower surface tension, an elevated alkaline pH, and in several ways has the same properties as the water that surrounds the cells in our body. He also shocked the scientific world when he discovered that it was also the structure of the water molecules formed into clusters that gave glacial water its unique properties.

Dr. Flanagan found a rich amount of negatively-charged hydrogen ions in Hunza Water. As we know, hydrogen, with its single electron, is the ultimate antioxidant: a powerful neutralizer of free radicals. That being said, negatively ionized hydrogen atoms are not found in ordinary water. All water contains hydrogen atoms with a positive charge. The hydrogen protons that are found in ordinary water control the pH or acid-alkaline balance. The negatively charged hydrogen protons found in Hunza water are the most powerful electron donors known to chemistry. These atoms are extremely powerful free-radical scavengers, and these hydrogen ions are normally found in the fluids of healthy living systems.

replication -

Over many decades and through countless hours of research and experimentation, Dr. Flanagan was able replicate this living, glacial, “Hunza” water that is attributed to the long-life spans of the people of the Hunza Valley. And, because of the years of dedication to uncovering the secrets of this water, we now have the luxury of having in-home water ionizers so we can drink this antioxidant-rich water every day.

The benefits and cost-effectiveness of water ionization are verified by over one hundred Japanese hospitals and clinics because of its scientifically documented health benefits, as well as hundreds of thousands of individuals, restaurants, and businesses around the world with their own ionizers.
