By now, I think most of us have an awareness of climate change. We can not really ignore it at this point. Our summers are getting hotter, we are dealing with serious habitat loss and the life in our oceans is decreasing. Many cultures & communities across time saw the earth as their mother and they worshiped her as extensions of themselves. Earth was seen and deeply appreciated as pure divinity. Somewhere along the way, within the last few hundred years - people lost this connection and appreciation. For many, it was taken from them & for others, their people just forgot. In order to protect our earth mother we need to take purposeful steps towards environmental solutions.
1.3 billion plastic bottles are used every day, this is 40 billion monthly and 481.6 billion yearly. This is just plastic bottles - not counting all of the other plastic used daily. Everyday around 8 million pieces of plastic make their way into the ocean. More than 100.000 sea birds die from plastic pollution yearly. These are just a few statistics to express the dire need for plastic free solutions.
This is why we do what we do in Know Your Why - we do it for the future children of this planet, we do it for the oceans and we do it out of a pure respect for nature.
